Here is the list of pretty good hotels located in Irkutsk near Lake Baikal and recommended by USA Today’s Travel Tips. Right, they are not cheap, but pretty good to stay and spend time :)

Baikal Business Center Hotel

Baikal Business Center Hotel ( is a 59-room property located opposite the Sib Expo Center International Fair and Exhibition Complex. Guests have a choice of single or double rooms, junior suites or main suites, all with satellite TVS, air conditioning and high-speed Internet access. The suites also feature kitchen facilities. The hotel’s guest facilities include a beauty parlor and hair salon, a sauna, coffee shop, laundry and currency exchange office. Staff will arrange transportation for transfers and excursions in the Lake Baikal area. The tour company that owns both the Baikal Business Center Hotel and the Delta Business Hotel — Grand Baikal LLC — offers a wide range of tours and activities including hiking, cruises on the lake, hunting and fishing excursions and spa treatments.

Delta Business Hotel

Delta Business Hotel ( in the heart of Irkutsk caters to both business and leisure travelers. Its 30 guest rooms and suites come with wireless Internet access and minibars stocked with complimentary beverages. The decor is bright and unfussy. Guests have access to a modern business center, a restaurant serving European cuisine and traditional Siberian specialties, a bar and a sauna. Services include laundry, dry cleaning, air and train ticket booking and transfers.

Euope Hotel

The Europe Hotel ( is conveniently located within walking distance of the main downtown area of Irkutsk and about 40 minutes’ drive from Lake Baikal. City tours, recreational activities at Lake Baikal, and transfers are available directly through the hotel. Guests have a choice of standard or deluxe guest rooms, and studio or junior suites. All feature fine wood and leather furnishings, plush carpeting and pastel-shade decor. Some of the suites offer a whirlpool bathtub. All room rates include breakfast, an airport shuttle service, Internet access, daily newspapers and access to a sports club. Other services include ticket booking, car rental, interpreter services and notebook computer rentals. The hotel also features a hair salon, solarium and souvenir stand.

Hotel Angara

The 475-room Hotel Angara ( sits on Kirov Square in the heart of Irkutsk. All the guest rooms are decorated in Italian-style furnishings. Rooms on the upper floors have upgraded amenities such as whirlpool bathtubs and air conditioning. Useful on-site guest services include a tourist agency, a currency exchange office and postal services. The hotel hosts two restaurants serving Russian, European and Chinese cuisines, a 24-hour business center, a swimming pool and a sauna.
